Research found that half of the top ten trucking accident factors can be tied to location.

Mitigating risk is a daily endeavor in logistics. To help identify pain points, Omnitracs, using a third-party data library and a predictive model, has compiled a database of dangerous locations to determine the most high-risk areas for accidents.

The research found that one-half of the top ten trucking accident factors can be tied to location. These factors include:

  • Traffic flow interruption and congestion
  • Traveling too fast for conditions
  • Unfamiliarity with roadways
  • Roadway problems
  • Missing required stops
