    Hillenbrand Acquires K-Tron

    Hillenbrand Inc. has acquired K-Tron International Inc., a manufacturer of material handling equipment and systems, for approximately $435 million.

    Hillenbrand is the holding company for Batesville Casket Co., a manufacturer of funeral services products.

    After being adjusted for debt and estimated cash on hand, the expected purchase price of the transaction is approximately $379 million.

    K-Tron will operate as a subsidiary of Hillenbrand.
