(SINGAPORE, ) - Sinotrans, together with Exel-Sinotrans Freight Forwarding Co. Ltd, the China operations of Exel, a world leader in supply chain management, today announced that it has signed a contract with Legend Group. The Legend Group is China's largest PC maker, and Exel will provide logistics services for the company's finished products distribution centers in Beijing and Shanghai. Exel's integrated solutions, capabilities in the technology sector and range of value-added services that reduce cycle times and improve performance are crucial in ensuring the efficiency of Legend Group's national supply chain operations.
In addition to the service parts distribution handled since early this year, Exel-Sinotrans will provide management for the distribution centers (DC) and the implementation of IT systems for the operations. The project went live last month. In addition, a new logistics center will be built in Beijing by the Sinotrans group, scheduled for completion in early 2004.

The Legend Group recently adopted a new brand named Lenovo for its IT hardware division, including PCs and mobile phones. The new name also encapsulates the company's diversified business development and plans for rapid expansion into international markets.
