Target Logistic Services changed its name to Mainfrieght, reflecting the title of its new global parent.
The name change reflects the forwarder's further integration into the New Zealand company's worldwide logistics operations since its acquisition last November. “After operating in the US and abroad for the past 38 years as Target Logistic Services, we are proud of our legacy,” said Chris Coppersmith, president and CEO. The company grew from a single office in 1970 to a $200 million company with facilities in 38 US cities and a network of subsidiaries and agents in 80 nations, Coppersmith points out.
Mainfreight has offices throughout Asia and the South Pacific. The company has 3,000 employees and annual revenues of NZ$ 1 billion (US$ 755 million).
