Skyjack Pursues Volvo Material Handling Acquisition

GUELPH, Ontario—Skyjack Inc., a Linamar company, announced that discussions will begin regarding Skyjack’s purchase of selected assets of Volvo Construction Equipment’s material handling business.

Skyjack says the Volvo material handling equipment business complements the acquisition of Carelift Equipment, which was completed in August of 2007. The acquisition would further expand Skyjack's telehandler product offering, add a rough-terrain straight mast lift truck product and provide additional manufacturing capacity to further the company's growth potential, according to Skyjack.

Skyjack anticipates moving the Volvo assets to Ontario and consolidating them with its existing telehandler business.
